Lanes reopen after crews respond to grass fire along I-95 North near Baymeadows Road

JACSONVILLE, Fla. – Fire crews were on the scene of a brush fire off I-95 North near Baymeadows Road Thursday afternoon.

As of 2:15 p.m., the right lane was blocked. All lanes have since reopened.

A nearby traffic camera showed a firetruck pulled off to the side of the highway.

JFRD tells News4JAX it was a small grass fire caused by a vehicle crash.

The department says this is just another example of how dry things currently are.

Duval County is currently under an emergency burn ban in response to dangerous wildfire conditions threatening the area.
