ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 61-year-old man accused of child sex crimes following a joint investigation with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and state and federal agencies, according to SJSO.

SJSO said Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives executed a search warrant on April 19 at the home of Andrew Pelger on North Durbin Parkway in St. Augustine. Investigators said they located child sexual abuse material, along with sex toys and child-like sex dolls.

Pelger was arrested and charged with nine counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, prohibition of certain acts in connection with obscene lewd materials, and resisting an officer without violence, SJSO said.

While Pelger was out on bond, detectives learned he owned a second home in Ooltewah, Tennessee, SJSO said. Detectives assisted Hamilton County deputies with search warrants at that home and a nearby storage unit, where investigators said they found 12 child-like dolls.

SJSO said Pelger turned himself in at the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center on Saturday on outstanding warrants.

SJSO said it worked with HCSO, FBI Jacksonville, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on the case. The investigation remains active.
