Woman killed, 4 seriously injured in Gainesville crash

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A Gainesville woman is dead, and four others are seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Alachua County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of SE 15th Street and SE 32nd Place — near the exit of Boulware Springs Park.
Troopers say a 35-year-old Gainesville woman was traveling east and attempting a left turn onto SE 15th Street when an 18-year-old Gainesville man, traveling south on SE 15th Street, collided with her vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-year-old driver sustained serious injuries in the crash. Four passengers riding in his vehicle — two females and two males, all from Gainesville — also suffered serious injuries. All four passengers were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
