Woman, 34, killed after traveling through intersection, striking tree in Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old woman was killed Monday morning when her sedan traveled through the intersection of County Road 235 and NW 157th Street in Alachua County and struck a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver, who was from Alachua, was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency said. It was not immediately clear whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
