JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 20s was in stable condition after being shot multiple times during a confrontation involving an armed driver Tuesday evening on Norfolk Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Norfolk Boulevard in connection with a shooting. Before officers arrived, the shooter called police to report the incident.

Shortly after, a man in his 20s drove himself to a nearby hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He was listed in stable condition.
According to the investigation, the shooter was parked and sitting in his car when the man approached him and told him to leave. The shooter agreed to do so, but JSO said that when the shooter did not leave quickly enough, the other man reapproached him and pointed a rifle at him.
The shooter then shot the man several times before leaving the scene and calling police, JSO said. Investigators believe the incident was isolated and said there was no threat to the community.
Crime Scene detectives are processing the scene for evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
