JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you’re interested in adopting a pet this weekend, you’ll have a chance on Saturday at Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services “Really Large Adoption Event.”
The adoption event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2020 Forest Street.

All adoption fees will be waived for the event. Each pet adopted will leave spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Cats and dogs will also be available for foster.
“It has been a really busy summer, and we’re operating over capacity for both dogs and cats,” said ACPS Chief Michael Bricker.
“We’re all hands on deck for this event, and hope to find loving homes for the hundreds of amazing animals we have at the shelter. The more animals we find homes for, the more new animals we can bring into the shelter, meaning more animals are saved from dangerous and urgent situations. Everyone who adopts from us is part of saving lives,” Bricker said.
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide information and facilitate meet-and-greets with available animals.
Community members interested in adopting or fostering a pet are encouraged to attend.
