JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Duval County jury found Larry Baldwin Jr. guilty of First-Degree Murder and Second-Degree Murder in the 2025 killings of his father and a friend, State Attorney Melissa Nelson announced.
Baldwin faces a mandatory sentence of life in Florida State Prison.

Shooting at Baymeadows business complex
Just before 3:30 a.m. on June 21, 2025, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a shooting at a Baymeadows Way business complex. When officers arrived, Baldwin told them he had shot his father.
Officers found 19-year-old Rubisnney Giraldo-Mina and 41-year-old Larry Baldwin Sr. on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded, but both men died at the scene.
Witnesses told police Baldwin had been working on a disabled truck in the parking lot with his father and friend when an argument broke out. Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured what happened next.
The footage showed Baldwin and his friend arguing before the situation escalated. Baldwin struck his friend with a firearm, and when he did so a second time, the gun discharged and struck his father. Baldwin then shot his friend multiple times.
Baldwin will be formally sentenced at a later date.
