Police ID man killed in double shooting on Kings Road

2nd man wounded in shooting on West 12th Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting Thursday night in Northwest Jacksonville.

Police have identified the man killed as Christopher Bing.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Bing and another man were standing outside near the Kings Ridge Apartment complex on West 12th Street about 10 p.m. when they were shot. Both men were transported to the hospital, where Bing died. 

Police have not said the condition of the second victim.

Homicide detectives said they have no suspect description and were asking the public for help. Anyone with information on this shooting is asking to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.

According to News4Jax records, this was the 11th homicide in Jacksonville during August and 87th of 2017. Of those, 68 are being considered murders by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
