Seven hikes, one reward: Jacksonville’s 7 Creeks Challenge is back

The Seven Creeks Park Challenge invites hikers to explore Jacksonville’s 7 Creeks Recreation Area by completing a series of hikes on its interconnected trails and preserves, typically between January and March. Participants are encouraged to log at least seven hikes across the more than 30 miles of natural-surface trails that wind through pine flatwoods, saltmarsh, hardwood forests, and coastal hammocks, often using a simple tracking form to self-certify their progress. The challenge is designed for all ages and abilities, giving people the flexibility to repeat favorite routes or sample new ones in parks such as Betz-Tiger Point Preserve, Bogey Creek Preserve, Cedar Point, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, and along the 7 Creeks Trail. Beyond fitness, the experience emphasizes connection with nature and local conservation lands, turning each outing into an opportunity to discover wildlife, scenic views, and the unique ecosystems that make the 7 Creeks area a standout outdoor destination in Northeast Florida.
