Waste Not Want Not celebrates new “Castle”

Waste Not Want Not Executive Director Dr. Kathleen Spears joined River City Live to preview the nonprofit’s ribbon-cutting and lawn party celebrating the grand reopening of its newly renovated and expanded food rescue hub, known as “the Castle.” The organization helps fight hunger and reduce food waste across Northeast Florida by rescuing more than 4,000 pounds of surplus food each day and delivering it to partner agencies serving children, families, seniors, veterans, and individuals facing food insecurity. The free event takes place April 30, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2050 Carnes Street in Orange Park. Learn more at www.wastenotflorida.org.
