JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ The Jaguars are putting one of their top pass catchers on injured reserve.
Jacksonville placed tight end Brenton Strange on injured reserve on Tuesday afternoon, a major blow for the 4-1 Jaguars.
Strange was banged up during Monday nightโs 31-28 win over the Chiefs at EverBank Stadium and didnโt return. Strange has 20 catches for 204 yards this season and has been the teamโs most reliable pass catcher as receivers Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown have all gone through ups and downs this season.
Strange must be held out at least four games. Once a player is cleared to return to practice, they have 21 days to be activated to the active roster. If that doesnโt happen, they must be placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Strangeโs loss is a huge blow for Jacksonvilleโs offense. Not only is he an excellent pass catcher but heโs one of the teamโs best blockers. He was expected to take on an increased role after the team released Evan Engram and has done well in ascending to the top tight end position on the Jaguars.
