Notebook

  • Jakobi Meyers missed practice.
  • Cole Van Lanen was back at practice.
  • Parker Washington was back at practice.
  • Looks to me like the Jaguars have figured out who their starting O-line will be in Week 1. They are just waiting for Cole Van Lanen to get back ready and he will slide in at right tackle next to Ezra Cleveland and Emmanuel Pregnon will be there left guard.
  • With Meyers sidelined that opens up reps in three receiver sets. Looks to me like the rookies CJ Williams and Josh Cameron will split those. Both rookies have been spectacular throughout camp. They play the game very differently but if Meyers misses time it wouldn’t surprise me to see those guys make some plays. The one thing I don’t think will happen is I don’t believe this will change the calculus on how they use Travis Hunter.
  • J’Mari Taylor looks like he has really climbed the depth chart. Taylor came in as an undrafted free agent but now is working ahead of some of his veteran counterparts. With LeQuint Allen still sidelined it would not shock me to see Taylor make it on the Jags 53.
  • Jags defense was fiery during some redzone work early in practice. Jourdan Lewis and Parker Washington had a little back and forth in the end zone that had to be separated.
  • Monday is a low intensity type of day as they get ready for two days of joint practices with the Bucs.
