The 48 Hour Film Project is the largest film competition in the world where over 130 cites across the globe have 48 hours to write, film and edit with the provided genre, character, prop and line that has to be in their movie. On Friday, September 27, 2024, the JAX 48 Hour Film Project kicked off at The Jessie, with over 35 teams that received their required elements. The winner of Jacksonville will have their film screened at Seattle, Washington for Filmapalooza. The films will be shown at WJCT Studios. Screenings are: Group A - (Tuesday, October 15), Group B - (Wednesday, October 16th), Group C - (Thursday, October 17th). The Best Of Screening / Awards Show will be held on Monday, October 21st. www.48hourfilm.com/jacksonville

Fresh off a successful LOL Jax Film Festival, Adam and Monique Madrid are focusing on the 48 Hour Film Project. The national creative program launches production this weekend with screenings and awards planned for Sept. 14th-16th and the 21st respectively. As for this weekendโ€™s events, filmmakers will meet the Madrids along with other groups to spin a wheel to learn what their particular film genre they will produce, what featured line and prop needs to be incorporated and a few other specifics. Creatives will then have 48 hours to write, produce, shoot and edit their project to submit on Sunday. Those interested in participating or supporting the projects at the upcoming screenings can find out more information at 48hourfilm.com/jacksonville.
