The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office has terminated a deputy following his arrest on charges of battery and aggravated assault.

Law enforcement is at an Alachua County apartment due to an armed barricaded suspect who shot at deputies while they were attempting to serve a warrant, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.

A search is on for a plane that is believed to have crashed Tuesday in Alachua County after reports of residents hearing a loud boom, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
