A 30-year-old Interlachen man died early Sunday morning in a crash in Palatka.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 47-year-old man from Melrose has lost his life after a three-car wreck on State Road 100 near the intersection of Bardin Road in Putnam County. Crash investigators with Florida Highway Patrol said a 59-year-old woman from Palatka and a 72-year-old woman from Florahome were traveling west at State Road 100 when the driver lost control. The vehicle swerved right hitting a guardrail and then swerved left hitting an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound, head-on. A 46-year-old female passenger, also of Melrose, is critically injured. A third vehicle was involved in the crash when it hit the back of the vehicle carrying the Melrose passengers.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. - A Putnam County man was killed and a Clay County woman was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash Thursday afternoon just northeast of Palatka, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. on State Road 100 near County Road 309D/Bardin Road. According to the Highway Patrol, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling west in the eastbound lane of S.R. According to the Highway Patrol report, he was not wearing a seat belt. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.

Linda Gail Blount, 44, was involved in a crash at State Road 100 and Bardin Road shortly after midnight Wednesday. Deputies said she was complaining of injuries and became combative while being transported to Putnam Community Medical Center. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said once Blount arrived at the hospital, she punched and kicked Emergency Medical Technician Richard Newbern in the face. She was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
