Brad Paisley, wife fights hunger with 1 million meal pledge

LOS ANGELES – After opening a free grocery store earlier this year, country music star Brad Paisley and his wife are expanding their efforts to fight hunger in America. Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, have pledged to donate 1 million nutritional meals this month. The initiative is billed as the Million Meal Donation Tour, which kicked off in Detroit last week. The idea for their store originated after the couple volunteered their kids' service at a similar store in Santa Barbara, California. He said more than 54 million people have experienced food insecurity in 2020, including 18 million children.

Amid pandemic, Live Nation announces drive-in concert series

(AP Photo)NEW YORK Tour promoter Live Nation has announced its first-ever drive-in concerts series in the U.S. for July, months after the live music industry has been on lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. All venue staff are required to wear masks, and Live Nation requests that attendees wear masks upon arrival, where there will be contact-less ticket scanning through their windows. Masks are not required once fans are in their designated tailgate areas, and Live Nation is not requiring that fans wear gloves. Tom See, president of Live Nation Venues-US Concerts, said the company spent months working to find a safe, enjoyable way to put on live shows during the pandemic. A menu of hot food items and nonalcoholic will be available for purchase, Live Nation said.

Chris Paul, JJ Watt to appear in Amazon's 'Regular Heroes'

LOS ANGELES NFL star J.J. Watt, NBA player Chris Paul and country singer Brad Paisley will appear in an Amazon series that highlights everyday people who are supporting their community during the coronavirus pandemic. Paul will make a guest appearance on the fifth episode of Regular Heroes on Friday. He has been outspoken on social issues and vocal during the pandemic as the president of the NBA players union president. Paisley and Watt are expected to take part in separate episodes the following two weeks of the docuseries. Paisley and his wife opened a free grocery store that has made deliveries to older adults in Nashville during the pandemic.

(CNN) - The CMA awards are switching things up this year, replacing host Brad Paisley with Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. The change comes after 11 years of Paisley hosting, along with Carrie Underwood, who will return this year as part of the combination of hosts. Paisley said he is excited to watch the show with Parton and McEntire on stage. "As a fan of all 3 of these amazing women, I can't wait to watch," wrote Paisley, who retweeted the CMAs' announcement Monday. Last year, the Country Music Awards took a ratings dive, so ABC was up for some show changes.
