Cook is notable for T. Graham Brown's โ€œI Wish That I Could Hurt That Way Again,โ€ Steve Wariner's โ€œSmall Town Girlโ€ and Brooks & Dunn's โ€œOnly In America.โ€

The chair of the organizationโ€™s board of directors, Rich Hallworth, and Mark Ford, its executive director, made the announcement at Nashvilleโ€™s historic Columbia Studio A.

โ€œGathering as we do each year โ€” to reveal and welcome the members of our incoming class โ€” is truly one of the highlights of our calendar,โ€ Hallworth said in a statement. โ€œTo these outstanding songwriters, we say โ€” thank you for sharing your songs and your artistry with us.โ€
