Eminem apologizes to Rihanna on new album
Fifteen-time Grammy Award-winning rapper Eminem released a new surprise album, "Music to Be Murdered By," Thursday night. The release is a companion to his 11th studio album that features 16 new songs, including a track tilted "Zeus," in which the rapper apologizes to Rihanna for his controversial lyrics about Chris Brown that leaked in 2019. Eminem made reference to the felony assault Chris Brown pleaded guilty to following the altercation between then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Eminem's words were striking to fans as Rihanna and Eminem have collaborated on many projects through the years and landed the No. Eminem addresses several other issues throughout his album, ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Justice Department’s antitrust lawsuit against Google has a judge: Obama appointee Amit Mehta, who was assigned the case Wednesday morning in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He went to elite U.S. universities, clerked for an appellate court judge and worked for both a D.C. law firm with high-profile clients and as a public defender attorney for low-income clients. As a judge, he’s ruled that lawmakers should get the president’s financial records and has sprinkled his music appreciation into opinions. The Supreme Court sent that case back to a lower court and it is ongoing. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1993 and graduated from the University of Virginia’s law school in 1997.

Rapper Eminem once again dropped a surprise album, releasing "Music To Be Murdered By" on Friday along with a video that calls for changes to gun laws. The Detroit rapper's new music video for "Darkness," one of the album's 20 tracks, depicts a shooting at a concert. It closes with audio and video footage of news broadcasts from other recent mass shooting around the U.S. and an appeal to register to vote. A link to the music video on Eminem's website encourages viewers to contact or visit several gun violence prevention organizations, including Everytown for Gun Safety and Sandy Hook Promise. Among many collaborators, the album features Ed Sheeran, Skylar Grey, Anderson .Paak and Juice WRLD, the 21-year-old rapper who died in December.

Mariah Carey's Twitter account was hacked on New Year's Eve allegedly by the same group that took control of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's account. Dozens of tweets were posted on the hacked account, some using the N-word and others referring to the Chuckling Squad, a hacker group that took control of Dorsey's account, among other celebrities. Dorsey's account was hacked in August, sending out erratic and offensive tweets, which Twitter deleted a few minutes later. Twitter confirmed to CNBC that Carey's account had been hacked. Carey is one of the top 100 most followed Twitter accounts on the platform with more than 21 million followers.
