As the Highway 82 Fire burns through Brantley County, local volunteers and organizations have set up multiple donation centers, including one outside Brantley County Family Connection, to support residents displaced by the disaster.

One of two large wildfires in southeastern Georgia continues to grow and now exceeds 31 square miles.

More than 5,000 acres continue to burn in the Highway 82 Fire in Brantley County, with at least 87 homes lost, and the Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that a curfew will be in place from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in the affected area.
