Due to a combination of the dry ground, low humidity and gusty wind a Red Flag Warning (Fire Weather Warning) is in effect. This warning covers a large part of our area generally along and west of the St. Johns River.

Visibility concerns as smoke lingers over inland counties

With no rain in the near future, gusty winds, and warm temperatures, fire threats remain critical.

While the sun will shine under blue skies, the temperatures will struggle to get out of the upper 40s in Southeast Georgia and lower 50s in Northeast Florida today.

The cold front will settle in throughout the afternoon under partly cloudy to clear skies, allowing the arctic air to sink into our area. This cold, dry air has sparked several alerts.

Strong winds and low humidity keep fire danger high

Plenty of sunshine will warm the region to the lower 60s, right around the average for this time of year.
