Transfer hearing set for Salt Life founder charged in Lake City teen’s death
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A founder of the Salt Life clothing brand who’s facing a manslaughter charge in the death of an 18-year-old woman at a Florida hotel is due in court next week. Hutto was arrested last Friday in Jacksonville, about 280 miles from the hotel, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Investigators have not said how they believe Hutto is connected to Duncan’s death or if they had a relationship. COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – One of the founders of the Salt Life brand was arrested Friday after an 18-year-old Columbia County woman was found dead inside a South Florida hotel. Michael Troy Hutto, 54, of Jacksonville was arrested Friday and accused of manslaughter in connection with the Lake City teen’s death, Riviera Beach Police said. Records and past media reports show that Hutto is the co-founder of Salt Life, a widely known clothing company founded in Jacksonville Beach.
