Two titans of terminology traded words Friday morning in the finals of the First Coast Spelling Bee. Following 25 rounds, a three-time county champion was left to face the two-time reigning regional king.

The best 5h- through 8th-grade spellers from 14 counties in Northeast and North Central Florida will compete later this month in the First Coast Spelling Bee.

Thursday night, 14 students who earned the right to say they’re the best spellers in their counties will take the stage in the First Coast Spelling Bee.

One word -- "methodically"-- earned speller Saachi Sharma the regional crown at the 74th annual First Coast Spelling Bee in 2018.
