With the ongoing risk of beach erosion as hurricane season begins, News4JAX went back to check out Summer Haven, an area of St. Johns County that’s been hit hard in recent years.

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday voted 5-0 to spend $400,000 to fund an engineering study of the Summer Haven breach, with an eye toward the best way to either repair it or find other long-term methods of dealing with ongoing erosion there.

People in the Summer Haven community of St. Johns County can get their questions answered Tuesday about what the county is doing about damage caused by a strong nor’easter last fall.
