The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is investigating after a hunter was shot and killed Thursday during a hog hunt on Cumberland Island in Camden County.

In response to what Florida officials have referred to as the state’s “most successful conservation efforts,” the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has begun creating proposals for a potential bear hunt later this year.

Fishing and hunting being a constitutional right may be considered the most “Florida thing” ever—and on Election Day, Floridians surely proved that after voting and approving Amendment 2- Right to Fish and Hunt, by 67 percent.

The FWC approved increasing hunting hours and adding precharged pneumatic airbows to the legal methods of “taking” an alligator.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering free hunter safety internet-completion courses in seven Northeast Florida counties during September.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 12-foot, 600-pound gator was hooked by three men in Flagler County on Oct. 6 at 8 p.m.Matthew Farlow, 25, told News4Jax that he, his brother Robby Farlow, and friend Tyler Greene legally captured the beast of an animal in a tributary of the St. Johns River. Farlow posted to Facebook saying: “Flipped the switch on a dinosaur. This beast gave Robby Farlow a right hook and a black eye. Thanks Tyler Greene for making it all happen.”Farlow said they kept the meat to eat and that they are going to get the head mounted. “Nothing goes to waste,” Farlow said.
