An area of showers and thunderstorms currently over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and nearby land areas is expected to move west-northwest into the Bay of Campeche Saturday or Saturday night.
We are monitoring the area in yellow.
A low-pressure system could form afterward if the system stays over water.
Formation chance over 48 hours is 10 percent and the formation chance over 7 days is 20 percent.
