Flooding, thunderstorms to ease by Saturday night

Flood warnings persist as coastal rain continues overnight

Coastal rain with flooding will continue overnight and into Saturday. Coastal Flood Warnings will remain in effect until Sunday morning. Showers with embedded thunderstorms and wind will decrease throughout Saturday. There will be a slight chance of showers early Sunday, until around 6 a.m., followed by clearing skies and lighter winds.

Early mornings and evenings will feel more Fall-like next week with near seasonal afternoon highs.

Wind Advisories for the coastal counties through early Sunday Morning. Sustained wind in the 20 mph range with stronger gusts to 35.

A Gale Warning for Atlantic waters today through Sunday morning.

The highest Water Levels of the season are expected through Saturday’s high tides. A Coastal Flood Warning for Moderate Tidal flooding continues through Sunday morning. The tides will crest 1.5 to 3 feet above normal levels.

Heavy downpours with isolated thunderstorms will continue along the beaches and I-95. An additional 1 - 2 inches will be possible with the heaviest rain along our beaches to I-95 with lighter amounts west of the River.

The pattern will taper off on Saturday, then slowly improve through the day.

Cooler temperatures under sunny skies for Sunday with a fall chill in the air early next week.

Tonight: Windy with rounds of showers, isolated storms. Wind: 15-20 mph, gusts 35 mph.

Saturday: Windy with bands of rain. Coastal Flooding will be possible along our waterways during the high tide cycle. Morning lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Afternoon highs in the 70s. Rain chances 40-60 percent. Wind: NE 15-25 mph, gusts to 35 mph.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers early then becoming partly cloudy. Morning lows in the 60s with afternoon highs in the 70s. Wind NW 5 -10 mph, gusts to 15 mph. Rain chances 20-30 percent through around 6 a.m.
