Thunderstorms and showers bring heavy rain threat through Monday

Mother Nature will water Mom’s plants this weekend.

Showers with thunderstorms continue along the stalled frontal boundary. A cluster of thunderstorms is currently moving west to east, stretching from Alachua to St. Johns County.

These will move across St. Johns and northern Flagler counties through around 5:30 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Flagler, Putnam, and St. Johns counties until 5:30 p.m.

Scattered showers will be possible overnight.

The weekend forecast remains unsettled with strong to isolated severe storms possible through Monday. Scattered showers with thunderstorms will develop each day with rounds of widespread rainfall. Current model averages show the potential for 0.50 - 2.00 inches of rain through Monday.

Breezy and cooler on Tuesday before our spring temperatures climb to near summer levels next week.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. Showers possible overnight.

Saturday: Becoming cloudy with smoke possible as the wind switches to a southwesterly flow. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop, mainly after 2 p.m., 50- 80 percent. Lows in the 60s for SE GA, 60s to 70s for NE FL. Highs in the 70s to 80s with a few low 90s possible along our southern zones. Wind: S/SW 10-15 mph. Cloudy overnight with showers possible.

Mother’s Day: The unsettled weather continues. Scattered showers with storms will develop through the day, continuing overnight, 50-80 percent. Morning lows in the 60s and 70s. Afternoon highs in the 80s to low 90s. Wind: SSW 5-15 mph. Cloudy with showers overnight.
