JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hey there! If you’re in the Jacksonville area this week, get ready to soak up the sun—and maybe make a splash in the pool.
We’re starting the week with gorgeous weather and temperatures climbing into the 90s. It’s perfect for any outdoor plans, whether you’re thinking about hitting the pool, spending time at the park, or just enjoying the sunshine.
This morning at JAX Airport, we kicked things off at a comfortable 70 degrees with crystal clear skies and no fog in sight. If you’re stepping out early, it’s all about that fresh morning air before the summer heat arrives.
Just a few quick showers possible
Overall, the weather’s expected to stay dry for most of the week, but don’t be surprised if you notice a quick pop-up shower in the afternoon.
I’m talking about a 5% to 10% chance for a brief sprinkle today, and maybe around 10% to 20% for the next couple of days.
Most of these little storms will hang out north of Jacksonville and break up fast, so they’re not likely to ruin anyone’s plans.
Make sure you keep that sunscreen handy and stay hydrated—those breezy winds around 5 to 14 mph will help, but the sun is strong out there.
If you do see a cloud or two, it’s just our typical summer pattern doing its thing. By the time we get to Thursday through Sunday, the rain chances do bump up a bit, but only to about 40% —and even then, we’re just talking about a few scattered showers, not an all-day washout.
No tropical trouble this week
Now, if you’re keeping an eye on the tropics: nothing brewing in the Atlantic or the Gulf right now that’s expected to impact us here in Jacksonville.
The Pacific is busier, but nothing there will affect our weather locally.
So for the next week, tropical concerns are off the table for our corner of the world.
Stay cool and share your view
To sum up: hot, mostly dry days ahead with just a couple quick storms possible, especially later in the week. I always recommend spending some extra time outside while this classic summer weather sticks around, but remember to listen to your body and take breaks as needed.
And hey, if you capture any fantastic weather moments—sunny skies, cool clouds, or your best cannonball—share them with SnapJAX at news4jax.com/snapjax/!
