Friday and into the weekend: hot temperatures plus the humidity will keep the heat index top of mind with afternoon showers each day.
Gusty winds, heavy downpours and frequent lightning will start Friday afternoon. Feels like temperatures will be dangerous, in the 100-110 degree range.
Be sure to stay hydrated and wear loose, light-colored clothing if spending time outside over the next several days. Seek AC and indoors if heat-related illness appears suddenly.
Low rip current risk throughout the weekend mornings becoming moderate as the east coast sea breeze kicks in during the afternoons.
Tropics are quiet for now, but there’s some Saharan Dustin the forecast.
