JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives, working alongside Jacksonville Beach Police, arrested 25 people in three days as part of a targeted operation aimed at reducing the demand for prostitution and combating human trafficking.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Sand Trap,” focused on individuals using online platforms to solicit or offer sexual acts for money.

Undercover officers set up in beach-area hotels and communicated with suspects online before making arrests.
During the three-day operation, officers identified two survivors of human trafficking and connected them with resources and support services.
JSO said it would continue working with partners across the state to conduct similar operations aimed at eliminating human trafficking.
