JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Vic Miccolucci has been getting results and saving lives in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia for more than a decade.

After years of outstanding service at Channel 4, News4JAX anchor, reporter and I-TEAM investigator Vic Micolucci will soon embark on a new chapter in his career. He has been offered an opportunity as the Communications and Community Engagement Executive with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. In his new role, Vic will help build bonds between the community and JSO and will serve as an advisor to the sheriff.

Fresh start: Formerly homeless and jailed, 8 Jacksonvillians now have jobs, housing, and hope

Back in February, Vic shined a spotlight on Jacksonville’s Mental Health Offenders Program, a program all about breaking the cycle, keeping people out of jail, and cutting down on homelessness in Jacksonville. He went to the graduation of eight individuals who have turned their lives around. By covering this story, Vic gave hope to others who may be struggling and brought attention to a great local program.

‘96 Hours of Anguish’: Documentary highlights destruction, dedication in Bahamas

In 2019, Vic and Photojournalist Jesse Hanson flew to the Bahamas to assess damage from Hurricane Dorian and tell the stories of the hardest-hit victims. The Category 5 hurricane was blamed for the deaths of 78 people in the Bahamas and the United States, with at least 282 people who were never accounted for, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Vic helped bring in donations and help to the area by accounting first-hand the dire situation at hand.

Night to Shine: People with special needs shine bright on red carpet at annual prom night event

Vic has been the emcee for “Night to Shine” for years. The Positively JAX event is a prom party for more than 1,000 people with special needs. Vic really knows how to roll out the red carpet for his community.

Serving food, smiles, and hope: ‘Miracle on Ashley Street’ a big success...again

Vic is known around Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia for his incredible volunteering contributions. In June of 2023, Vic volunteered to help raise money for local homeless programs to feed individuals in Duval County. With News4JAX’s sponsorship, the 29th annual Miracle on Ashley Street had its highest attendance and raised the most money in the event’s history.

Tiny Yorkie lost on Jacksonville Beach has an adventure before his owners are found

Do you remember when Vic found a tiny Yorkie in 2022 and single-handedly used social media and Channel 4 to find its owners? Vic was having dinner with friends when they spotted the tiny dog roaming the beach alone. Mickey was wearing a collar and a leash, but had no tag or microchip.

8 members of Deaf community serve smiles at Jacksonville Beach Chili’s

It might be the quietest Chili’s in America. And that’s not a bad thing. Thousands read Vic’s story highlighting Chili’s junior manager, Tyler Powell, who helped his individuals in the deaf community get jobs.

Medical Mecca: Muslims quietly serving Jacksonville community

This story reached millions of individuals on Facebook. A devoted group of local Muslims provide much-needed medical care to people who cannot afford it, and many people have no idea. They’ve been doing it for years, offering more than 5,000 doctors’ appointments at a St. Johns Bluff clinic in Jacksonville -- without charging a penny -- and their acts of goodwill are saving lives and healing hearts.

Inclusion is brewing: Staff with special needs run new coffee shop

A well-known coffee franchise opened in Jacksonville. The key ingredient? Hiring people with special needs.
