Former professional football player and recent Hall of Fame inductee Tony Boselli teamed up with Academy Sports to surprise local educators with a shopping spree.

Academy Sports and Outdoors teamed up with the Jaguars to provide a girls high school flag football team with a $3,000 shopping spree at the location on Southside Boulevard.

Academy Sports and Outdoors and The Boselli Foundation on Tuesday provided a $2,800 shopping spree to 28 Jacksonville student athletes from Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School.

Sixteen women leaders in athletics from Duval County Public Schools were honored Tuesday afternoon with a shopping spree in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Across the country people are flocking to stores, hoping to cross items off their lists at a deep discount.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – To honor Veterans Day and thank local veterans for their service, Academy Sports and Outdoors partnered with Bama-Q to provide the Northeast Florida Chapter of Heroes on the Water a free lunch and tailgate after a morning kayak fishing trip. Bama-Q pitmasters prepared a three course Florida-inspired seafood meal and Captain Rick Murphy of the Florida Insider Fishing Report surprised the veterans with a video message thanking them for their service. The event took place Saturday afternoon at Brown’s Creek Fish Camp. Academy also donated kayaks and other fishing equipment to the organization.
