Ascension St. Vincent’s to vaccinate 2,500 at Clay County Fairgrounds

Ascension St. Vincent’s vaccinates frontline health care workers
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hundreds of frontline health care workers at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Riverside received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine Thursday morning. Roughly 500 doses of COVID-19 are being administered to healthcare workers in Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital and the message on Thursday was one of hope. Ascension St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville is moving forward with Pfizer to vaccinate its front-line staff today. 500 healthcare workers set to get the #CovidVaccine. After getting the first dose of the shot, healthcare workers stayed for 15 minutes for observation.
1st drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in Jacksonville to close next week
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The first-ever drive-thru testing site for coronavirus will be shutting down on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. The community is starting to see record lows in testing rates since March 13 when Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent’s first opened their parking lots to the public. The hospital has conducted nearly 13,000 drive-thru tests so far. Testing will still be available at Ascension St. Vincent’s urgent care offices and many other government-run and commercial sites around Northeast Florida. Since March, just over 5 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Florida and identified 669,684 people with the virus.
Baptist Beaches & Baptist Nassau County evacuate patients
Baptist Medical Center Beaches patients were transferred Monday to Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville in downtown ahead of Hurricane Dorian. Nassau County Baptist Medical Center informed Nassau County Emergency Management officials the hospital would close at 3 p.m. Monday. Baptist's emergency centers at Baptist Jacksonville, Baptist South, Wolfson Children's Hospital, Town Center, Baptist Clay and Baptist North remained open as of Monday. Ascension St. Vincent's Clay County, Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside, and Ascension St. Vincent's Southside will be closed to visitors only, beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, until the storm has passed. At St. Vincent's Clay County and St. Vincent's Southside, elective surgeries and procedures from Tuesday at 1 p.m. through Wednesday will be canceled and rescheduled.
