City officials adjusted the prices of its holiday parking after hearing from local merchants and business owners.

It now costs more to park at Beaches Town Center in Atlantic and Neptune Beach.

Beaches Go Green is inviting the community to the annual “Paws for Claus” Holiday Cleanup and Bake Sale on Saturday, December 6, at the Beaches Town Center, encouraging participants to don festive attire and join the effort to keep Jacksonville’s shoreline pristine. From 9 to 11 a.m., volunteers of all ages—including families and pets—can participate in a beach cleanup

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The sixth annual Tony’s Turkey Trot is one holiday transition that was not derailed by the coronavirus pandemic. The Thanksgiving Day 5K is about more than just getting ahead of the holiday calories. It’s a memorial run for Tony Meduri, who died years after a traumatic brain injury, or TBI. Meduri’s daughter created the Tony Meduri TBI Fund that holds TBI awareness events year-round, including Tony’s Turkey Trot. All post-race events and the fun run were canceled, and the usual on-site awards were prepared to be mailed to winners and participants instead.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The 13th annual Donna Marathon began Saturday with a variety of runs and events before the big Donna Foundation 26.2, the National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer, on Sunday. Donna Deegan, a breast cancer survivor, began a foundation in 2009 and uses the marathons to raise money for breast cancer research and care for breast cancer patients who need financial assistance to battle the disease. DONNA ultra-marathon athletes also begin their 110 miles to finish breast cancer, featuring a start and finish line sponsored by Black Knight. ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. - The pay-for-parking program at the Beaches Town Center will begin enforcement on Monday. Commissioners approved the metered parking program earlier this year to ease congestion in the area. The paid parking spaces will be throughout the shopping and dining area of the Beaches Town Center in Atlantic and Neptune Beach. There are seven kiosks in Neptune Beach and two in Atlantic Beach. Atlantic Beach is offering a 50% discount for registered Atlantic Beach residents.

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. - The pay-for-parking program at Beaches Town Center began with a soft launch on Thursday, the City of Atlantic Beach announced. The North Beaches Pilot Parking Management Program is a public-private partnership between the cities of Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach. The first half hour of parking is free; after the first free half hour, the cost is $1 per half hour. The City of Atlantic Beach, meanwhile, has established a 50-percent discount for its registered residents who utilize pay-to-park spaces in Atlantic Beach. Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach residents may register their vehicles at Northbeachesparking.com.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. - A retail, entertainment and hotel center development named Saltwater Row is going to be built on the site of a long-closed Kmart store near Atlantic Boulevard and Third Street in Neptune Beach. The first phase will include 30,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor with a 44-room boutique hotel above the retail. Plans for the second phase include an approximately 150-room upscale hotel from a national brand. "I think it's exciting," lifelong Neptune Beach resident Corey Grusden said. Franklin Street Real Estate Services is preleasing Saltwater Row.

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. - Paid parking is coming to Atlantic Beach, specifically in the Beaches Town Center area, in hopes of easing congestion. Commissioner Brittany Norris explained those belong to Neptune Beach, but could potentially be used by Atlantic Beach. There are a total of 60 spots Atlantic Beach can use for its paid parking program. Neptune Beach, however, has 200 paid parking spots. "They're just going to influence, creep into neighborhoods and on people's property by charging just paid parking at the Town Center, which is just going to end up being paid parking at the beach access," said Nick Kenyln, an Atlantic Beach homeowner.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. - In a few weeks, you'll have to pay to park at the Beaches Town Center. Parking has been an issue at the Beaches Town Center for quite some time, according to shoppers. Kiosks are being installed this week at the Beaches Town Center. Officials at the city of Neptune Beach say in the Beaches Town Center there will be about 170 spaces in Neptune Beach and about 65 spaces in Atlantic Beach. Employees who work at the Beaches Town Center will be able to park at some nearby churches and banks that the city has made agreements with.
