A collaboration between the Community Health Outreach and the American Heart Association is working to change the number of nutrition-insecure military families in Jacksonville, starting with a truck carrying 3,500-5,000 pounds of food that will feed roughly 6,000 families a month.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FarmShare and other local businesses are doing their part to make sure no one in Northeast Florida goes hungry with drive-thru food distribution events around the area. Farm Shares said 816 families picked up more than 50,000 pounds of produce, meat and canned goods within three hours at the drive-thru event. Costco pitched in by donating 75 Christmas trees that will be given out in addition to the food. They can get enough food to last an entire week, and they can come back the next week,” said Green. FarmShare will also hold a food distribution drive-thru event beginning at 9 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Ponce De Leon Mall at 2121 U.S. 1 in St. Augustine.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FarmShare and several other agencies teamed up Saturday morning to distribute thousands of pounds of food to help those in need. Hundreds of cars went through the drive-thru site at the Community Health Outreach on Timuquana Road. “It’s me, my husband, my nephew and I also have a 2-year-old granddaughter.”Community Health Outreach, Farm Share & other orgs hosting food distribution on Timuquana rd. Virginia Pillsbury with Community Health Outreach said usually on a Saturday, it sees 350 cars, but today they expected up to 1,000. Pillsbury said the need is continuously growing and last week alone they distributed 50,000 pounds of food.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Baby Luv at Community Health Outreach, which serves up to 600 families each month who need diapers and baby supplies, is holding a Miles of Diapers collection drive. Each baby with diaper need receives 50 diapers per month thanks to Miles of Diapers donations. That could mean as many as 20,000 diapers distributed per month. From Sept. 21 through Oct. 30, there will be collection boxes at WJXT, Channel 4, Fields Auto Group Dealerships, Tire Outlet stores and Community Health Outreach of Jacksonville. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. More than 1,000 local families received food on Saturday during a 'Truck to Trunk' distribution at Community Health Outreach. The organization teamed up with Farm Share and the Rotary Club of North Jacksonville to provide groceries to families. Charles Green, the manager of the food pantry at Community Health Outreach, said the food pantry typically serves about 500 families a week. However, during the pandemic he said the need has increased to between 600 and 700 families. "Especially when you have families coming in who have lost income, or they don't have any income and yet they're able to come here."
