The annual charity game between Jacksonville police โ the Guns โ and firefighters โ the Hoses โ is scheduled for Feb. 20 at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Area. The charity match will be held at 3 p.m., followed by the Icemen hosting the Tulsa Oilers at 7 p.m. One ticket will grant access to both games. A total of 25% of each ticket will be donated to the Jacksonville Fire Fighters Charity and the FOP Foundation. And we really want everyone to come out to the arena and celebrate these guys,โ said Jacksonville Icemen team president Bob Ohrablo.
Proceeds from this yearโs โGuns and Hosesโ game to help support family of firefighter lost at sea
The Gonzalez family came out to support the Hoses, but there was also a lot of support for the Guns. โWe've been waiting to play this game for a year,โ said Daniel Perrotti, the captain of the โGunsโ team. Many of the proceeds will go to help support the family of Brian McCluney, one of two firefighters lost at sea over the summer. "We love doing events like this,โ said Stephen Myers, the captain of the โHosesโ team. And it's a lot of fun.โHe added, "Most people, once they see a live hockey game, get hooked on this game.
