Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville and the North Florida School of Special Education (NFSSE) have launched a new partnership to bring equine therapy to children receiving animal-assisted therapy.

The North Florida School of Special Education dropped by to talk about their upcoming Concert on the Farm, but not before surprising Eden with a special treat. Eden has been a fan of the spirit tunnels created for guests of The Jennifer Hudson Show. Before meeting up with Stacy Santiago, to talk about the school's upcoming fundraiser, students formed the tunnel, which organizers say they had "rehearsed for weeks."

In honor of this special event, Vic Micolucci, Honorary Chair, is hosting a beautiful cocktail hour followed by an evening runway show at the Delores Barr Weaver Therapeutic Equestrian Center.

North Florida School of Special Education serves students with intellectual and developmental differences in Jacksonville. NFSSE students receive a quality education, work alongside teaching professionals and resource therapies staff to improve their academic, vocational and social skills and participate as contributing members in the community. Faculty and staff are committed to providing a comprehensive, individualized education plan for each student that meets his or her needs. Currently, NFSSE serves 220 academic age students and over 100 postgraduate students over 22 years of age.

Over 20 students with disabilities dedicated a little over an hour of their day to learning how to enhance their bike riding skills.

Volunteers will work alongside a rider to help teach them how to ride a two-wheel bicycle independently.

Students from North Florida School of Special Education unveiled a new piece of artwork Wednesday that will be displayed inside a newly opened Pet Paradise veterinary clinic. We knew that it was going to be a collaboration between our art students and our art teachers and volunteers." Art with Soul is a partnership between the school and Pet Paradise. Pet Paradise said it hopes to use art from the students in all of its veterinary facilities, and the school hopes many more pieces will follow.
