FHP: Man, 18, dies after being hit by 2 cars on Northside
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ An 18-year-old man was killed Friday night when he was hit by two cars on Main Street south of Sara Drive on the Northside of Jacksonville, troopers said. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was hit by a sedan headed south on Main Street, and then was hit by a second sedan in the roadway. He died at the scene. The 56-year-old woman driving the first car and the 24-year-old man driving the second car were both wearing seat belts and were not injured, troopers said.
FHP: 1 dead in San Mateo crash involving semi
SAN MATEO, Fla. One person died in a crash Monday involving a semi and a vehicle in San Mateo, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash was reported about 10:30 a.m. on southbound U.S. 17 at State Road 100. At last check, the right lane of southbound U.S. 17 was blocked. Troopers asked drives to avoid the area if possible.
51-year-old man killed in pedestrian crash in Putnam County
SAN MATEO, Fla. โ A 51-year-old man is dead after he was hit by car while walking along US-17 near Boundary Road. A Florida Highway Patrol report shows the crash happened at 11:00 p.m. Monday when a 28-year-old woman was traveling southbound on US-17 in the right travel lane when she hit a pedestrian in the same lane. The report doesnโt offer information as to if the charges against the driver are pending. Itโs also not clear if the pedestrian died at the scene or if he died at the hospital. The identities of those involved were also not released, but the report does show those involved both live in the city of San Mateo.
Bail bondswoman, ex-corrections deputy charged with armed trespassing
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. - A Putnam County bail bondswoman and her co-worker, who was previously a corrections deputy, are charged with armed trespassing after investigators said they busted into the wrong house in Putnam County in June. According to an offense report, Jaquith and Greaner were looking for a woman who allegedly jumped bail. Greaner is a former Putnam County Sheriffs Office corrections deputy, which is why his booking photo was not released. According to the Sheriff's Office, He resigned prior to an internal affairs investigation in April 2017. In 2006, Greaner was demoted from sergeant to corrections deputy with loss of pay following an internal affairs investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.
