The cold weather continues this morning and into Wednesday morning as the latest round of winter sticks around. However, not nearly as cold as Monday morning.

Warmer weather expected to return midweek

Today will be mostly sunny, but a cold front is on its way. By late afternoon or early evening, expect isolated to scattered showers, which will become more widespread by Sunday morning.

Another Freeze Watch as a cold front approaches the region

The big chill is coming through our area beginning Thursday night as the coldest temperatures we’ve seen this winter settle in for a while.

Behind the line of showers, winds and cloudiness, cold weather will sink in overnight, bringing the coldest weather of the winter.

A Freeze Watch is in effect for our inland locations from Monday night through Tuesday morning. A widespread freeze is likely for those areas within the freeze alert with temperatures in the 20s.

The overnight storms will continue throughout the morning and into the early afternoon before moving out of our area.

Chilly temperatures with gusty wind under sunny skies today.  After a cold windy day, a Freeze Watch will become a Warning for Sunday.  Light wind and cold temperatures will lead to widespread frost.

The Freeze Watch may need to be expanded just slightly further South and East as models show widespread near freezing to below freezing temperatures. Inland Freeze and Frost...Tonight clearing skies with lows in the low 30s inland southeast Georgia, upper 30s along the Isles. Inland northeast Florida will wake up to low to mid 30s inland, mid 30s to low 40s I-95 to the beaches. Freezing temperatures expected overnight. Wake up temperatures in the upper 20s to 30s inland, 30s to low 40s I-95 to the beaches.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Light showers are pushing through and will dry up after the early evening hours. Our temperatures are expected to plummet overnight as winds increase out of the northeast around 20mph. Thursday starts out chilly, in the low 50s, under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will start in the mid 50s and warm into the mid 60s. Sunday is the better day of the weekend, with sunnier skies and mid 60s for daytime highs.
