JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The roller coaster of weather we are on will gain downside momentum, as our record tying high temperature on Wednesday will be a distant memory by Friday morning. Winds will slowly shift from a warm southerly breeze to a stiff northerly breeze before sunrise on Thursday. After one final shower before 7 a.m., expect wall to wall blue skies and breezy - chilly conditions. Sunrise temperatures will be in the 50s and they never really warm up. By Friday and Saturday mornings, inland temperatures will be in the 30s and beaches temperatures will be in the 40s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The American Sailing Association is asking boaters to be on the lookout for any plastic they see out on the water. The campaign is called, Operation Plastic Pollution Purge.Through the campaign, the association is asking boaters to take less plastic out on the water and pick up any plastic in the water to be brought back and recycled. Tony Jones, the owner of Windward Sailing in Fernandina Beach, said they remind boaters to pick up any plastic they find. If everybody thats out, all boaters, when they see plastic pick it up, it would really help, said Jones. Some docks do have recycling bins by the water for boaters to dispose of any plastic they find.

It wasn’t quite a world record, but a North American record was still something to celebrate for a couple of skiers in Michigan on Saturday. In conjunction with the Michigan Snowsports Industries Association, David Zemens and Sabato Caputo of agnarchy.com set a North American record by snowboarding at 16 different ski areas throughout the state over a 24-hour period. The old record was 12, but now the two can lay claim to the Snowball Run title in North America. The Guinness World Record is 17, which was set in Japan. The final legs of the journey were at ski areas closer to Detroit, those being Mt.
