We are tracking scattered showers across southern Alachua County, along the Atlantic sea breeze. This will likely lead to additional showers and isolated storms developing near and along I-75 and the Suwannee Valley. These will continue through around sunset and then slowly fade late tonight.
Patchy to dense fog will be possible across inland areas of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
A drier airmass will settle in tonight, limiting the chance of showers and storms to areas between Highway 301 and I-75 to around 20 percent. Mainly dry conditions on Thursday, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday afternoon. The heat returns with a streak of 90-degree days through Monday.
The models have pulled back on rain chances for the Holiday weekend. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible Saturday through Monday, mainly from around 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Overall, rainfall totals remain light over the next 7 days.
