A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM through 8 PM for all of Northeast Florida and portions of Southeast Georgia as dangerous heat continues to build across the area.
Afternoon highs will climb into the mid and upper 90s, but it will feel more like 107 to 111 degrees thanks to high humidity.
Most locations will stay dry with only an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible after 2 PM, meaning many communities won’t see much relief from the heat.
Be sure to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks if you’re working or exercising outdoors, and never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
The intense heat continues Tuesday with highs pushing the upper 90s and heat index values again near 110 degrees.
By midweek, moisture begins to increase, bringing a better chance for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms Wednesday, with even higher rain chances Thursday into the upcoming weekend.
While the additional rain should help knock temperatures back into the lower 90s later this week, humidity will remain high, so it will still feel quite muggy outdoors
