Florida Fifth District Court of Appeals judicial retention

Rulings from several East Coast and Central Florida judicial circuits, including the Seventh Circuit (St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam and other counties), are appealed to the Fifth District Court of Appeals.

Florida First District Court of Appeals judicial retention

Rulings from six North Florida judicial circuits, including the Fourth Circuit (Clay, Duval and Nassau counties) and the Eight Circuit (Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist Levy and Union counties), are appealed to the First District Court of Appeals.

Florida Supreme Court justice retention

Once nominated by the governor and ratified by the legislature, Florida Supreme Court justices face the voters in a “yes” or “no” vote as to whether they should remain in office in the first general election after selection and again every six years. Florida Agriculture Commissioner

Primary voters chose Republican Wilton Simpson and Democrat Naomi Blemur to compete for the commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in November’s general election.

Florida Chief Financial Officer

Republican Florida CFO Jimmy Petronis drew one opponent, Democrat Adam Hattersley. With only one candidate from each party, this race will be decided in November’s general election.

Florida Senate District 7

Incumbent state Sen. Travis Hutson won 56% of the vote against a Republican challenger in the August primary for Florida’s Senate District 7, which covers St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler and northern Volusia counties.
