Tropics and weekend outlook

It’s been a pleasant Saturday with scattered showers throughout the afternoon, mostly east of I-95 due to the outer bands of Tropical Storm Chantal as it slowly moves north.

Sunday will be egg-tra bunny as the temperatures rise into the mid-to-upper 80s across the region.

That same pesky front that's drenched us for days will slowly lift northward into southeast Georgia this afternoon, but we won't dry out until the weekend.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Today was warm, topping out in the lovely upper 70s. Wednesday starts out with fog clearing as we warm up into the upper 70s. A more thin, less intense round of showers will push through later, during the evening hours. Expect clearing skies and dropping temperatures behind the rain, as the cold front pushes through our area. Sunday we will see a few clouds with increasing winds, but temperatures will make in into the mild mid 70s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Several events planned for Saturday are being rescheduled due to the potential of severe weather across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. See a list of events that are being postponed below:Rain from tropical storm Nestor put a damper on the monthly farmers market at Nocatee Saturday. The John J. Rhoden Foundation has postponed its 5K set for this Saturday to raise awareness about domestic violence against men. Due to the tropical storm, the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville decided to move the Buddy Walk to this Sunday. Due to the tropical storm winds, regular river taxi service on the St. Johns River will be postponed at least until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - As residents in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia are settling down following Hurricane Dorian, others are remembering Hurricane Irma and its destruction. Wednesday marks two years since Irma tore through the First Coast and Golden Isles, leaving millions of dollars in damage in its wake. The effects of Irma were felt in St. Johns County as well where some neighborhoods were underwater for weeks following the storm. The Category 4 hurricane broadsided Cudjoe Key, Florida, on Sept. 10 and churned north across the entire peninsula.
