The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a woman was killed Saturday morning after striking two vehicles on Lane Avenue.

Vito Johnson was riding his bike on the Eastside of Jacksonville on Feb. 4 when he was injured in a hit-and-run.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a pedestrian was hit and killed early Monday morning on Lone Star Road, just steps from an elementary school with the same name.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man struck by a vehicle on South Lane Avenue at 11:40 p.m. Saturday died at a hospital and Jacksonville police are searching for the car that struck him. Police said the vehicle was headed north about two blocks south of Interstate 10 when it struck the man and the driver didn’t stop. Traffic homicide detectives are leading the investigation and will try to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. They are trying to identify the vehicle involved and its driver. The Lane Avenue was closed in both directions while the police investigated.

Troopers found a pedestrian in critical condition in Interlachen, at the intersection of Fowler Street and Guy Avenue. Police believe a green Dodge Durango was traveling west on Fowler Street when it struck the pedestrian. Officers also found a passenger side-view mirror lying on the ground.
