A man convicted for shooting and killing his girlfriend in September 2020 at a Jacksonville Amazon center was sentenced to life without parole on Friday.

A man charged with first-degree murder in the September 2020 shooting of his 22-year-old girlfriend at a Jacksonville Amazon center was convicted Tuesday after the jury deliberated for just 20 minutes.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Nicholas has strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane ahead of its expected landfall in Texas.
