Results in primary elections for Duval County & Jacksonville races

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland reminded voters Monday that the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed for the Primary Election and the Special First Unitary Election is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6.

Voters across Florida will head to the polls for the state’s Primary Election on Tuesday, Aug. 18. If you haven’t checked your registration recently — or if you plan to vote by mail — now is the time to make sure you’re ready.

Despite reaching a little over 71% of voter turnout for the Primary Election in Duval County, the Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland said he was disappointed in the numbers.

The Duval County Canvassing Board conducted its post-election voting system audit Friday which resulted in 100% accuracy.

The Duval County Canvassing Board will meet Monday at 3:30 p.m. to certify the primary election results.

As things ramp up for Tuesday’s primary election, Senator Rick Scott made a stop in Duval County Saturday where early voting is set to close on Sunday.
