St. Johns Technical High School (SJTHS) will join with St. Augustine High School (SAHS) beginning in the 2026–27 school year, creating a new Early Career Program aimed at expanding academic and career options for students.

A former St. Johns County teacher pleaded no contest to the three charges of sending harmful materials to a minor and was sentenced to three years in prison and two years of probation.

Prosecutors in St. Johns County charged Kyle Spitzer, a 26-year-old chemistry teacher at St. Augustine High School, with multiple counts of transmitting material harmful to minors by an electronic device.

Demonstrations were held Wednesday at three St. Johns County schools, protesting a bill that would forbid discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Most St. Johns County high schools will hold outdoor high school graduation ceremonies at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, the district announced Tuesday. The ceremonies at the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium will begin June 1 with St. Augustine High School at 7 p.m. and other schools will follow. Each student will get 10 tickets for guests and there will be pandemic protocols in place. Gabe Galloza is captain of the St. Augustine High School wrestling team and received All-American at nationals last year. He has a 4.8 GPA and is in the running for top of his class. Gabe is a member of the National Honor Society, the Interact Club, Link Crew and other volunteer organizations.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The West Augustine Nature Society is teaming up with Rotary and the Interact Club from St. Augustine High School for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service/CommUNITY Day event on MLK Day. Volunteers will be picking up trash and recycling off the streets, as littering is a major problem in the neighborhood, organizers said. The West Augustine Nature Society’s mission is to help the community become a cleaner, greener place despite the recent increase in development and the constant littering, including disposal of garbage and debris in wetlands and natural areas, the organization said. Masks are required for volunteers, who will also be asked to social distance. You can join in to help honor Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service and action in the community.

It was a no-frills graduation for this years seniors at St. Augustine High School. They wrapped up their high school education in groups of 10 with the stadium scoreboard all lit up with 2020. I am so glad I finally got to the point to finally graduate and it was worth the work. Im happy to be here but I kinda wish it was like an actual graduation with like everyone and not having to do groups. Its nice that theyre actually doing something instead of just giving us a pat on the back and doing a video, said Valedictorian Caeli Benyacko.

Brooke Reed is the captain of both the basketball and lacrosse teams at St. Augustine High School. Brooke is a member of the National Honor Society and Link Crew. She volunteers with the Police Athletic League and is a volunteer lacrosse coach and flag football referee with St. Johns County. Brooke currently has a 4.1 GPA.
