Jacksonville sheriff: Trio distributed up to 30 kilos of cocaine per week
An investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office Major Case Narcotics Unit aimed at dismantling a local drug trafficking organizations has netted 27 felony arrests, Sheriff Mike Williams revealed during a Thursday news conference.
Coast Guard offloads $411.3M of cocaine, marijuana at Port Everglades
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. โ Crewmembers of the U.S. Coast Guard cutter James offloaded about 23,000 pounds of cocaine and about 8,800 pounds of marijuana โ valued at more than $411.3 million โ on Wednesday morning at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. โWe know that each interdiction saves lives and helps to protect others from violence, extortion and instability,โ Vance said, adding that 50 accused smugglers. The U.S. Coast Guard turned over the accused smugglers, cocaine, and marijuana to federal authorities in Broward County. Vance said maritime narcotraffickers are still using customized go-fast boats, also known as go-fast vessels, or GFV. The list of those in attendance at the port also included U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Karl Schultz, Netherlandsโ Col. Jarst de Jong, Franceโs Capt.
$408-million of cocaine, marijuana seized by U.S. Coast Guard
MIAMI โ The Coast Guard Cutter James (WMSL-754) crew offloaded approximately 23,000 pounds of cocaine and approximately 6,900 pounds of marijuana, all worth more than an estimated $408 million, Tuesday in Port Everglades. "It is important to note that our fellow citizens aren't the only ones who benefit from these counter-narcotics efforts. Our Central American neighbors face tremendous strain from drug-fueled violence sparked by transnational criminal organizations. Efforts like this enhanced counter-drug operation significantly disrupt the criminal activity destabilizing the region." The cutter James is a 418-foot national security cutter home ported in Charleston, South Carolina.
Cocaine worth $48M seized by Jacksonville CBP in Eastern Pacific
New video of a huge cocaine bust carried out by Customs and Border Protection agents based here in Jacksonville was shared with News4Jax on Thursday. After two days of tracking, the Air and Marine Operations Team caught up with the vessel in the Eastern Pacific. They seized more than 36-hundred pounds of cocaine and arrested three Colombian nationals. The estimated street value of the drugs is $48 million dollars.
15 kilos of cocaine wash up on Flagler Beach
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. โ The Flagler County Sheriffโs Office said 15 kilos of cocaine washed up on the beach on Surfview Drive in the Hammock area of Palm Coast Friday night. The Sheriffโs Office released a photo of the drugs Sunday. At least one of the packages tested positive for cocaine, and negative for fentanyl. [SOT: BODY CAM SOUND] (14)Deputies searched the area of the beach where the bag washed ashore, and did not find any other evidence of narcotics. The Flagler County Sheriffโs Office said it let surrounding law enforcement agencies know about the narcotics so they could check their beaches as well.
