JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Retail stores across the country have been opening their doors on Thanksgiving in recent years to take advantage of shoppers hoping to get an early start on holiday shopping.

But this year, many retailers are breaking away from tradition and instead closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day.
